Apologies for the bad audio. Footage of Werner Klemperer at the 1968 Emmy Awards. Werner Klemperer was best known for playing Colonel Wilhelm Klink in the hit CBS Sitcom "Hogan's Heroes".
WERNER KLEMPERER RIP
Very gracious
All Ivan Dixon fans should see "Nothing But a Man" (1964).
Expected him to say "I am reminded of a story of a little boy..."
Hes a great actor was awesome as col klink
Col Klink 😘 Your acting is amazing, we remember up until now colonel klink RIP Werner klemperer
So well deserved and the right choice, but how in the heck did Greg Morris get nominated??? Werner and Don Knotts were two of the best television character actors ever.
Amazing competition! Greg Morris and Leonard Nimoy? Werner certainly was in great company and deserved every win he got for Klink.
This high-gloss bumper followed by a crappy video filmed off of the TV screen?
Hogans Heroes was one of the great comedie shows. Well done Colonel Werner Klemperer you were very entertaining.
he was nominated 5 years in a row winning in 68 and 69
Good on ya Werner.............. RIP buddy.
Endlich hat der Oberst seinen Ordnen erhalten! Noch nie ist einer aus seinem Lager geflitzt, nicha?
Yes 👋👋👋👍❤️ and my best greetings from Sachsen 👍❤️🌄🍀
Thank you very much. Dismissed!
So humble🥰
He could closed his speech with ‘Dissssmissed!’
A little celebratory cognac could also fit the role.
Amazing man
He's dressed as a Priest.
It's a nehru coat
this just made me remember quality times and forget about the chinese wuhan flu for 1:26
I can barely make out the writers he named. Richard Powell who he called Dick, Arthur Julian and Phil Sharp are the names i can distinguish. Laurence Marks ended up contributing too many scripts imo. Whenever I see the writing credit at start of show and it isn't Marks, I know the script is going to be fresh and funny. Marks wrote good scripts and for other shows as well but I think he really ran out of ideas for HH. The other guys wrote inspired scripts in lesser qualities.
He died before I was born but still had a great impact in my life. 'Wilhelm Klink' was one of my first role models.. Loving, kind, respectful... I'll never forget that/him He was the best actor I've ever seen
Why is he dressed like a priest? Thumbs down for fucking up the audio sync
Always pure class
A Wonderful Jewish actor who looks as though he's wearing a priest's outfit.(?)
nehru jackets were all the rage back then.
I'm sure Mr Spock would say ' Quite a logical choice '
Werner Klemperer in Law & Order 1992!! ruclips.net/video/15o2TQPlT-o/видео.html
A gentleman in the true sense.
Goldie seems like she is hogging the stage from Don.
Classy acceptance speech. Respectable. No one close to that anymore. All SJW today. Sad.
Just like Carol O'Conner, he had to have a great sense of humor to play such a goof so well
And Ted Knight as well.
Hey all hollwood actors today....take a lesson on class and humility.
Oberst Klink 👍😂
I just love this guy. He was so elegant and un-2020-like. His demeanor and speech will tell you all you need to know. And for a guy who was never a comedic actor, he was funny as hell as Colonel Klink. Never watched this show till a couple months ago, and now I can't get enough of it!
Hooooogannnnnnn! RIP Herr Klemperer.
Goldie Hawn is adorable.
Morris, Nimoy, and Klemperer--all three truly deserved the award, but unfortunately only one could be the winner. No regrets at all that Werner won. Wonderful people, all of them! Mission Impossible, Star Trek, and Hogan's Heroes were such awesome shows!
One of the most well known quips in TV: "Hogaaan....!"
He gave a quick peck on the cheek to his then wife Louise Troy, who appeared in three episodes of Hogan's Heroes.
It would have been perfect if Leon Askin (General Burkhalter) could have handed him the award. But Goldie wasn't getting any complaints I'm sure.
A long way from his service in the Army. He had a talent for comedic acting.
"Hogan.......!"
Nice he mentioned all his cast mates
I thought it was very classy of him to mention all the other co stars in the way he did. And although he was deserving of the award, it's hard to imagine John Banner not winning the same award because anyone who has seen Hogan's Heroes would probably agree that Sgt. Schultz was easily as important and good a character as Klink was.
Pity he missed Ivan Dixon though
He won more than once. Notice comedy and drama were not separate yet.
What would have been great is if in the following season the award was sitting on Klinks desk......
Nothing but class.
I adore his trendy clothes, a super model, delightful human being, thankyou for video, a great tribute.
no mention of ivan dixion.........thigs that make you go hmmmmmmmmm
Terrible to overlook Dixon. At least Dixon won his own Emmy for something outside of Hogan's Heroes. Such a great talent, including directing and singing.
Damn he got up to the stage fast. Maybe today’s Oscar winners could take a cue
